It was a long wait and many days of starting contractions and stopping. Natasha was getting desperate and even did stairs to try to get Her in labor. But as they say "Babies come on their own time" and sure enough she did. Dec 7, @ 12:15, 7 pounds 8 ounces and 19 inches long. Black hair, long beautiful nails like her great grandma Walker. Seriously her nails look as if they are painted a mauve color. We are so blessed to have her in our family and of course Taylor loves being a big brother.

Yes the first real snow of the season. We woke up to four inches. Now it is really looking like December, cant wait to get the snowmobile out. We live on the mountain, therefore we can really have fun with it.

Christmas with UCMT

Every year the company I work for has a Christmas party at the ALpine Golf Club, We do secrete santa and played games and had wonderful food. This year I got Bryce's name and found a Dallas Cowboy snuggie on ebay, he was estatic about the snuggie, even though we all make fun of them. He had to wear it around the office on friday because he knew that when he got home his wife would take it. It was a great party, I won an IPod with Itunes gift cards. HURRAY!!!!

Waiting for Christams

The christmas shopping is done, the gifts are all wrapped and the house is decorated. OH MY GOSH IT ISNT EVEN DEC.1st. WOW, I am amazing to have all my shopping done, and wrapped so I can sit back and enjoy the holiday shows, parties and concerts.

The pictures are of Natasha and Taylor reading new christmas books, and Taylor sitting by the tree and train around the tree. Taylor loves christmas and we love enjoying him.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Ali and Amanda came on THursday and we had a great Ham dinner and went to the movies. Friday we all went our seperate ways and shopped, then met at Gloria's, it is an Italian place, downtown Provo. We then continued with our shopping and had our turkey on Friday evening. What a wonderful night of famiy time. Saturday we went and got out massages, had lunch, then relaxed until dinner. Dinner consisted of the best steak and drinks and a very modern restraunt in Provo. We had double raspberry martini's (non alcholic), and then we went to a comedy show. We came home and enjoyed reminissing of the kids jr high and high school days. I love to find out just what my kids did in high school. I would ask them...."and where was I when this happened?" Almost instantly the kids said..."asleep". So just because you think your teenagers are home, asleep and safe...think again, hahaha

Seems as if we get into our same routine over and over, we forget to tell our significant other the way we feel, how much we love them and how much we appriciate them. Gerry and I have been debating if we should buy him a new computer or get his old one fixed. I wanted to fix the old one, he wants a new one. So it really was never decided. One of my late nights at work, I called him and asked what he was doing. "I am at the mall". I am thinking to myself.....uh oh, he never goes to the mall. So come to find out, he found out that a jewelry store was having a RESETTING event. So he took my Marquise, from a previous marriage, and had it set in a beautiful penant necklace. WHen I asked him why he did this and not take the money to buy a computer, his response was "I need you more than a computer" How sweet he is....always thinking of others.

Finally....We have Layla's Nursery finished. I painted the picture on the wall with her name written in Farsi and then Natasha put a frame around it. We made all the bedding, James painted, and Grandpa put in the chandelier. So I guess you might say it was a family effort.

Hagrid was dressed as a clown and Taylor loves our dog, They had a blast together in the front yard, waiting to go trick or treating in the neighborhood.

We went to my school for a trunk or treat party, and a halloween party for Taylor. He dressed up as Spiderman, he is so fun, and loves loves loves Halloween. His parents took him with a group of neighborhood friends and he would run to the doors and yell TRICK OR TREAT as loud as he could. He really got into it. Love that boy

Labor day weekend always seems to be the weekend to do some canning. With a three day weekend it is a great oppertunity to get it done. So this weekend I canned tomatoes. I am proud of myself for doing 122 pints. The cost of the tomatoes were 28 per bussel, but that makes it only 63 cents per bottle. That is cheap, and I might add that they are better tasting than the store canned tomatoes.

Mount Timpanogus Story Telling Festival

The Mount Timpanogus Story Telling Festival is a family tradition. It is just as the the title calls it...A story telling festival. It runs for three days and nights, and we always go to the last night of the festival. It is called "Laugh Night" and they get about 8 story tellers to tell funny stories. Some will sing with their stories others are just telling the story.

It has become a tradition for Gerry and I to attend it. THe Ireland family is the family that introduced us to this so of course we always sit with them. So the photos are of Gerry and I being silly, and Debbie Ireland, also a silly girl.

They said that there were about 5,000 people attending that night. It was awesome and it is cheap, so I would highly recommend this activity for everyone.

It is always fun to get all the cousins together and this year we had about 60 show up. None of the original Thorntons are here anymore, but we are trying to keep up the tradition of the reunion. It is always great to see everyone and be able to see the new generations and how they grow so fast.

Some old friends

After 30 years of seeing class mates on and off, I finally went to a reunion. The commitee did a great job on organizing and getting as many there as possible.

I feel bad that there were so many that I didnt recognize, however, it was great to find out how well we are all doing and find some old friends that live within just a few miles of me. I was also surprised that there were so many that had passed away. It is scarry to think that we are such a young class with many class mates gone.

I wish that more had shown up. The locals are the ones that didnt show. Others came from Florida, Utah, Arizonia, Iowa and Canada. You would think the locals could have shown up. Oh well they missed alot of fun, and we missed them. Here's to the next class reunion, I hope to go to in 5 years.

Well we finally moved to Montana or is it Alaska, we have said we would always retire in one or the other state, and we found a house to buy on the corner of Montana and Alaska. So I guess this is our retirement home.

Taylor loves the outdoors and his Uncle Ali, He is such a cute two year old.

We went to Bountiful to watch Ali's team play last Saturday, April 18th, which by the way was about 4 days after the huge snow storm, as you can see the feild was clear of the snow and we got sun burned. They won the game 13 - 6, so they are undefeated right now. On the other hand Gerry's team the Utah Heat are not, they have lost every game. Later that day Taylor told Ali to " go play football," and pointed at the field. Taylor had a blast running around the track and playing with his Uncle. Love those two crazy boys....

SPRING in UTAH....I decided to take a picture of the beautiful bloomed tree in our front yard, then it began to snow and well you can see what happened. These pictures were taken about three hours apart. Kind of crazy weather we get here. But it was still beautiful, God must have a sense of humor, or we wouldnt get these types of shots. VIVA LAS VEGAS

Taylor is MR Hollywood in the Limo, while Ali and Amanda are at the M&M factory. Taylor threw the biggest temper tantrum in the M&M factory, we were on the 4th floor and had to go down all the flights and he is screaming and kicking. Needless to say we didnt give into him, (only because mom and dad can run faster than me).

We had a great time in Vegas, with the kids, Kira came from Colorado, where she is based with the Army, she just got home from Iraq, so it was a great vacation for her.

Ali wanted to know why they put pine trees in your potatoes then charge you an arm and leg.
We went to see Mystere at Treasure Island, I cant even describe how wonderful it was. WOW, WOW, WOW....I dont understand how these dancers can actually bend the way they do. Go to this web site to see a clip.

Graduation

HE MADE IT!!!! Finally after a year of hard work, studying and loss of sleep Gerry made it through the massage program at Utah College of Massage Therapy. I am so proud of him and his accomplishment. Kira and I kept it a secret but she came early and was here for Graduation. We are now on our way to Vegas for 4 days. Both my kids and their spouses will be joining us. I cant wait to go.

You never know from one day to the next if it is winter in Utah or Spring. We received about 6" of the best powery snow. I loved it and so did the dog. Also the sunsets are scrumpsious and I took a picture of Mount Timpinogas out my back door. What a beautiful sight.

Florida

I went to Florida to visit family in Novemeber, it was great. I ate alligator and frog legs, yummy. The Kennedy Space Center is a great place and so interesting. My brother is the accountant for the largest cattle ranch in the US, they also have wild boar, turkey's, and alligators. It is an awesome ranch that the church owns and they give free tours, so if you are ever in FLorida it is called Deseret Ranch, outside of Orlando. Check it out

Tooth Fair Bakery

Natasha took me to a new bake shop in Provo on Saturday. It was their grand opening and at first I thought "Oh what a cute little bakery" As we stood in line and got closer and closer to the front counter we could see the most delumpuios cookies and cupcakes. When Taylor first saw them I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head. He was sooooo excited, and seeing the round suckers in the jars, kind of reminds you of the old fashioned candy store. It has been a long time since my kids have been together for Christmas, finally this year we were able to get them here so I said to myself that Martha would be coming to town, So when I was ready to get the china out, Ali said "Mother, just use your regular dishes" and my reply was "Martha wouldnt use regular dishes" so he got the china out for me, what a good kid. It was wonderful to have the here, we laughed and had a great dinner. THen came the presents, I cried when Ali an Amanda gave me a stone plague. Then I cried even more when the kids presented me with a Norditrack Tread mill. I LOVE IT>>>>>Best Christmas I have had in so many years. I love my family, and my step children, I pray that some day we will all be together. LOVE YOU ALL

Taylor's 2nd birthday. Florida trip

In November I went to FLorida to visit my brother and sister in law. I have not been since they moved and I knew it was my turn for a trip to see them. They come here all the time. So the day after Thanksgiving I flew to Orlando and spent 5 days with them. Can I just say once I got past the frogs around the door and the lizards on the windows, I realy enjoyed it. My sister in law and I went to the beach, and to Kennedy Space Center. Loved it all and want to take the whole family back someday.

What did we do before Grandkids

I never knew that I could love another child as much as my own. Then came Taylor, my first and only grandchild. He is the joy of our lives. He is so loving and just pure joy. I couldnt wait until he could say grandma and papa. He learned to say papa about 6 months before he loearned grandma but the first time of hearing that I cried. I love the fact that he has come to our family and brought such a sweet spirit with him.
